  • What is the process of suing someone?

I always hear about people suing each other in the US and they make it sound easy but when you actually look up law, it doesn't seem that easy.

If someone decides to sue someone or a business, what is the full process of it?

Often times there is a "no win, no fee" clause so you can contact any law firm which takes on a specific type of case, give them as many details as possible and they will handle it from there. If they don't win in court, you don't pay anything. You can imagine they are very confident when taking a case.

This article highlights the process really well ->
      To summarize:
      1. Figure Out How to Name the Defendant
      2. Ask for Payment
      3. Find the Right Court to File Your Claim
      4. Fill Out Your Court Forms
      5. File Your Claim
      6. Serve Your Claim
      7. Go to Court
The steps seem simple but it's all the things in between that can get complex.
