How do you find peace after a loved one has passed away?

I have a friend who is struggling with this. She has not been to work in 3 weeks and is very depressed. I think she has lost a lot of weight as she is hardly eating. I don't like seeing her this way, it is scaring me.

I find that when I lose someone close to me, or someone I loved is to cry. Cry and let it all out. Give it a few days of this and then start to focus on good memories. Being thankful they were in your life and what they brought to your life for you.

Be around your family as much as possible, grieve together but also try to remember the deceased in a positive way.
It does take time and it can be much longer for some than others. Get this person together with friends to show her life must go on and good times can still be had.

I imagine if you believe in an afterlife and the person who passed away did too then it's a lot easier. Knowing they have gone to a better place must be comforting.
If not, I suppose relying on family and just pushing through 1 day at a time is the only way.

Thanks for all this advice everyone. Very sound words I will be sure to pass them along and keep them in mind for myself. We all face loss at some point.
